Altron Digital Business study links workplace tech to employee satisfaction

Altron Digital Business has published South Africa's first Employee Technology Experience Index (TEXI), surveying 385 employees across eight major banking and insurance institutions. The study quantifies the cost of poor workplace technology at up to R30-million per 1,000 employees annually. Key findings include a 105-point employee net promoter score gap between those with positive vs. poor tech experiences, 47% reporting technology friction harming customer interactions, and over 28% of employees having stopped reporting IT issues entirely. The research identifies AI readiness, IT support quality, and core infrastructure as the three priority investment areas for financial services leaders.
