Anthropic’s Claude Tag is learning your company, one Slack message at a time

Anthropic is launching Claude Tag in research preview, an always-on AI teammate embedded in Slack for Claude Enterprise and Team customers. Unlike previous on-demand integrations, Claude Tag builds persistent memory and context by following along in channels, learning organizational knowledge over time. It supports both task-driven mode (breaking tasks into stages and reporting back in threads) and an ambient mode that proactively surfaces updates and flags forgotten threads. Admins control which channels and tools each Claude identity can access, keeping contexts scoped. The feature positions Anthropic in a growing enterprise AI land grab alongside Microsoft Copilot, Snowflake, Databricks, and Glean, all competing to capture organizational context as a strategic asset.
