NVIDIA introduces the Isaac GR00T Development Platform, an open-source end-to-end workflow for humanoid robot policy development. The platform unifies simulation setup, teleoperation-based data collection, data conversion, model post-training, and evaluation into a single integrated pipeline. Central to the platform is GR00T 1.7, the first open commercially usable vision-language-action (VLA) model for humanoid robots, released under Apache 2.0 with 3B parameters. Key improvements in 1.7 include pretraining on ~32K hours of human video data, a new Cosmos-Reason2-2B VLM backbone, ONNX/TensorRT export support, and significant benchmark gains over N1.6. A detailed walkthrough demonstrates building a pick-and-place task in simulation using Isaac Lab-Arena, Isaac Teleop, LeRobot data format conversion, fine-tuning, and closed-loop policy evaluation. The platform is already being adopted by humanoid makers, research institutions, and XR device manufacturers.
