Notion killing Skiff-influenced email app since most users use AI agents instead

Notion is shutting down Notion Mail, its Gmail client built largely by former Skiff employees, on September 22. The company cites a shift in user behavior as the reason: over half of Notion Mail users already manage emails without opening the inbox, relying instead on Notion's AI agents. Notion says it will focus entirely on agent-driven email workflows going forward. User email data will remain in Gmail.
