Old TV Vacuum Tube Turned DIY X-Ray Machine

A maker repurposes a DY86 vacuum tube from old CRT televisions to build a miniature DIY X-ray machine. The setup uses a low-voltage DC supply feeding a high-voltage AC inverter, transformer, and Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier to reach the voltages needed for X-ray emission. Images are captured on dental X-ray film placed behind objects, developed through a standard chemical process. Best results came at 10–15 cm distance with exposure times of 15 minutes to an hour depending on material density.
