Omen AI has raised a $31 million Series A to commercialize a miniature spectrometer that monitors coolant fluid health in real time inside data centers. As AI workloads push chips to run hotter, operators increase the water ratio in liquid-cooling systems, which accelerates bacterial growth and risks costly rack shutdowns lasting five or six hours. Omen's sensor detects bacterial contamination and wear particles (copper, chromium, silicon) before they cause failures, replacing the slow process of mailing fluid samples to labs. Founded in 2024 by 19-year-old Zach Laberge, the company pivoted from heavy construction equipment to data centers after Caterpillar dealerships flagged demand. Omen is currently working with a dozen data center customers including TensorWave, and has raised $40 million total since founding.
