The hub uses two HS8836A USB 2.0 chips (single-transaction-translator type), meaning all ports share USB 1.1 bandwidth. Build quality is poor: minimal soldering on port shells, no bypass capacitors, and a dangerous power jack wiring flaw that allows external power supplies to backfeed the host computer. The device was detected as two stacked USB 2.0 four-port hubs, confirming the deception. The author warns that fake reviews and misleading listings make it hard to identify such fraudulent products.
