Amiga Corporation has reached a settlement agreement with Hyperion Entertainment and Commodore, clarifying ownership of historical Commodore and Amiga intellectual property. Hyperion will continue developing AmigaOS 4 under license, but its rights to 68K AmigaOS products (3.2 and 3.3) are transitional and will end by December 31, 2027. Amiga will take over 68K AmigaOS development, receiving source code and documentation from Hyperion. The company is also actively preserving historical Commodore and Amiga assets, working with museums, libraries, and former employees, and plans to restore features like SoftVoice speech synthesis. Current licensees include Hyperion, Cloanto, Retro Games, and others.
