A hobbyist built a DIY centrifuge from scratch to separate T cells from blood, using a Raspberry Pi Pico, a 3D printer, and an A2212 brushless motor with a 30A electronic speed controller. The fixed-angle design includes safety features like an MPU-6050 for vibration-based imbalance detection and an IR sensor for speed monitoring and control. The build is still in development, currently being tested with dyed water and glycerol before attempting real blood separation.
