Cells use a little-known molecule to protect themselves from iron overload
The discovery that cells use small molecules called polyamines to protect against iron overload points toward new combination strategies against cancer, and offers a possible explanation for the iron buildup seen in disorders such as early-onset Parkinson’s disease.
