Intel Linux Driver Orphaned For Limiting RF Exposure To Humans

The Intel Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) driver, which limits RF exposure from Intel M.2 WWAN modems using the INTC1092 device ID, has been marked orphaned in the Linux kernel. This follows the departure of its maintainer from Intel and Intel's earlier exit from the modem business. The driver, added in Linux 5.15 back in 2021 and controlled via the INTEL_SAR_INT1092 Kconfig option, will remain in the kernel for existing hardware but will no longer receive active support.
