Keeping Time On Tumbling Icosahedra

A creative clock design called OVODYO uses two 3D-printed icosahedra, each with numerals on its twelve faces, tumbling around two axes via beveled gears to display hours and minutes. An ATmega8 microcontroller drives stepper motors through drv8833 drivers, with hall effect sensors tracking position and an LED strip indicating exact minutes within five-minute intervals. The creator has a history of unusual mechanical clock builds, including a chain-link sculpture and a mechanical seven-segment display.
