Qt Toolkit To Introduce Edge AI Submodule, Initially For Vision AI With Qt

The Qt Group is preparing to introduce Qt Edge AI, a new sub-module for the Qt toolkit focused on edge AI inferencing. The initial implementation provides C++ APIs for building inference pipelines and running machine vision tasks like object detection and classification. It targets embedded platforms including NVIDIA Jetson/Thor, Qualcomm IQ, and NXP i.MX95, and integrates with QtMultimedia for video frame input. The module is designed to be AI runtime agnostic. An NXP NNStreamer back-end plug-in and a face detection example application are also in review. Notably, the initial sub-module was co-authored using the Cursor AI agent.
