Linux 7.4 To Introduce Initial Device Trees For Apple M4, A18 Pro For MacBook Neo
Asahi Linux developer Sven Peter has submitted pull requests upstreaming initial Device Tree support for Apple M4-based Macs and the A18 Pro-powered MacBook Neo, targeting the Linux 7.4 merge window. The support covers only minimal hardware blocks shared with M3 (CPU cores, interrupt controller, watchdog, serial, pin controller, i2c, frame-buffer) and is enough to boot but not for full usability, with GPU and other functionality left for future kernel versions. A second pull request adds shared GPIO support and RTKit crashlog support for older 32-bit co-processors.
