Creating A Custom Hinge For A Motorbike’s Fuel Access Panel

A maker known as KRTframework built a hidden fuel access panel for a modified motorbike whose fuel cap ended up buried under new bodywork after being extended forward. A 3D scanner captured measurements to design the new bodywork, and a custom 3D-printed hinge with a push-to-open latch bridges the opening to the fuel tank while keeping the bike's clean lines. Commenters worried the push-to-open latch could be triggered accidentally, but the hinge design itself was generally well received for fitting the tight space while still allowing enough travel to access the cap.
