OpenMandriva Linux says contributor tried to sabotage the project
The OpenMandriva Linux project disclosed an attempted internal sabotage by a former contributor, Davide Beatrici, who had administrative access to project repositories. Beatrici deleted GitHub repositories the team had worked on for nearly a decade and pushed an empty package that obsoleted GNOME and Cosmic desktop environment packages in the Cooker development branch. He had gained admin privileges after previously helping migrate repositories to his private OneDev instance. Beatrici disputes the 'sabotage' label, claiming his actions were a response to internal disputes over the project's KDE/LXQt focus and unauthorized file deletions by other members. OpenMandriva is restoring deleted content and conducting a full audit, but has decided not to pursue legal action despite stating the actions constitute a criminal offense.
