(re)introducing kpt: Your toolchain for infrastructure automation

kpt is a package-centric CLI toolchain for Kubernetes configuration management that follows a 'Configuration as Data' philosophy. Unlike tools such as Kustomize, kpt uses an in-place update paradigm — final manifests are materialized and inspectable before being applied to a cluster (WYSIWYG). It supports the full lifecycle of KRM packages: authoring, pipeline-based automation, validation, and deployment. kpt has recently joined CNCF as a sandbox project and is used in production by the Nephio project for RAN/core network deployments. Planned improvements include pipeline performance, secrets handling, multi-cluster support, Helm integration, and a v1 API stabilization.
