Automated Incident Remediation with AWS DevOps Agent and Kiro CLI
AWS DevOps Agent and Kiro CLI can be combined to build a fully automated incident remediation pipeline. When a CloudWatch alarm fires, AWS DevOps Agent autonomously investigates the root cause and generates a mitigation plan. An EventBridge rule captures the completed mitigation event, a Lambda function extracts the findings and queues them in SQS, and a CodeBuild job runs Kiro CLI in headless mode to apply the fix to the codebase. Kiro CLI uses a steering file to constrain changes (max 3 files, no new dependencies, protected files off-limits), commits to a feature branch, and opens a pull request. A developer reviews and approves the PR, triggering deployment. The only manual step is the PR review, reducing MTTR from hours to minutes for L1/L2 incidents.
