Check Point Launches Firewall-as-a-Subscription as Cybersecurity Budgets Face Growing Pressure

Check Point has launched Firewall-as-a-Subscription, letting organizations access Check Point Force Firewalls without large upfront hardware costs. The package includes Check Point Force Firewalls, SandBlast threat prevention (claimed 99.9% block rate against zero-day attacks), Live Updates for reboot-free patching, and Smart-1 cloud-based agentic management. It builds on the R82.20 release from July 2026, which added AI Network Firewall capabilities. The three-year subscription lets customers scale throughput and switch to new hardware after 36 months, launching November 1, 2026 through Check Point's partner network.
