Intel Developing Their DXVK-IGDEXT For Improved Linux Gaming On Arc Graphics

Intel has quietly developed and open-sourced dxvk-igdext, a component that provides igdext64.dll to let Windows games use Intel Direct3D 11 Graphics Extensions (like UAV overlap, MultiDrawIndirect, and depth bounds) under Wine. Rather than silently falling back to slower default D3D11 behavior, the extensions get forwarded to DXVK's native implementation. Valve's Proton automatically handles this DLL, improving Steam Play gaming performance on Intel Arc Graphics hardware. The project is Linux/Wine only and not intended for native Windows use.
