Migrate SSIS packages to Aurora PostgreSQL – Part 2

A follow-up guide to migrating complex SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to Aurora PostgreSQL covers orchestration patterns that don't map to simple stored procedures. It shows how to replace SSIS Control Flow, precedence constraints, and event handlers with AWS Step Functions state machines using Choice, Catch, and Retry blocks; how Foreach Loop Containers become Step Functions Map states with configurable concurrency; how Script Tasks calling external APIs become Lambda functions behind private API Gateway endpoints combined with Parallel states; and how Amazon EventBridge Scheduler replaces SQL Server Agent for scheduling. It closes with operational tradeoffs around monitoring, IAM complexity, team skill shifts, and debugging differences, plus a cleanup checklist for the resources created.
