Mongorewind: Rewind Your MongoDB Test Data Without Restoring a Backup

A new open-source terminal UI tool called mongorewind lets developers instantly undo all data changes made during a pre-production test run against MongoDB, without restoring from a backup. It works by opening a cluster-wide change stream, recording every insert, update, replace, and delete, and using MongoDB's changeStreamPreAndPostImages feature to capture pre-images so it can apply inverse operations in reverse order. Pressing R (or running a non-interactive CLI command) rewinds the database to its pre-test state in seconds instead of the hours a full backup restore would take. It requires a replica set or sharded cluster since change streams depend on that, and each session's log is scoped and truncated automatically.
