Realtek RTL8723B/RTL8723BS Trying To Be Tacked On To The RTW88 Linux Driver

Patches are being developed to add support for the Realtek RTL8723B and RTL8723BS 802.11n WiFi chipsets to the RTW88 Linux driver. The work, contributed by Luka Gejak, adds around 5,600 lines of code and has so far only been tested in SDIO configuration — PCIe and USB variants remain untested. STA mode is the only verified mode, with AP and IBSS unconfirmed, and known Bluetooth/WiFi coexistence issues remain. If the patches mature, they could eventually replace the long-troubled RTL8723BS staging driver that has lingered in the Linux kernel staging area since 2017.
