Trying A New Radial Impeller Design For Quadcopters

A hobbyist experiment swaps standard three-bladed quadcopter propellers for a 3D-printed radial impeller design, remixed from an earlier maker's model to fit a 1750KV T-mount motor. The impellers are quieter and more robust than propellers but add significant weight, roughly 12.8 grams each, bringing the drone to 189 grams versus 141 grams with standard propellers. Despite impressive flying demonstrated in a video, the extra mass, inertia, and drag mean regular propellers still outperform the impeller design overall.
