Upcoming deprecation of selected GitHub Copilot models in mid-October

GitHub will deprecate several Copilot models on October 19, 2026, including Gemini 3.7 Flash, GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4, GPT-5.4 mini, GPT-5 mini, and Grok 4.5, across all Copilot experiences such as Chat, inline edits, ask/agent modes, and code completions. Suggested alternatives include Gemini 3.8 Flash, GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.6 Luna, and Grok 4.6. Suggested alternatives are auto-enabled for Enterprise and Business customers under default model enablement unless disabled by an administrator.
