Amazon EC2 R9g and R9gd instances powered by AWS Graviton5 processors are now generally available

Amazon EC2 R9g and R9gd instances powered by AWS Graviton5 processors are now generally available, offering up to 25% better compute performance per vCPU than Graviton4-based R8g instances. Improvements include DDR5 8800 MT/s memory, a 5x larger L3 cache, up to 2x higher network and EBS bandwidth, and up to 3x higher packet-processing performance. R9gd adds local NVMe SSD storage. Both types run on the Nitro System with the new Nitro Isolation Engine, a formally verified hypervisor component. Instances come in 11 sizes and are available in US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Frankfurt), with migration from R8g requiring no code changes for most applications.
