Hyprland 0.55 is a major release for the Wayland compositor. The headline change is the introduction of Lua-based configuration, replacing the custom hyprlang format (though hyprlang configs remain supported for a few more releases). A new Layout API lets users define custom window layouts directly in Lua. Other highlights include scrolling improvements with fullscreen window support and trackpad gestures, ICC profile support per output for color accuracy, FP16 precision and improved color management pipelines, a new glow window decoration, a live pinch cursor zoom gesture, and various new dispatcher and window rule options. Several config options have been removed or relocated as breaking changes.
