AMD's new 'low power' CPU core type (TOPO_CPU_TYPE_LOW_POWER) patches are queued for the Linux 7.3 kernel, set to land during the merge window in late August. This introduces a third core type alongside performance and efficiency cores, enabling proper identification of low-power cores expected on upcoming AMD Zen 6 client platforms. Previously, these cores were recognized only as 'unknown' in Linux.
