Future Mode Part 2: The foundation for securing agentic browsing
Chrome Enterprise is evolving its security architecture to handle AI agents that autonomously browse the web on behalf of employees. The post outlines three core security pillars: a User Alignment Critic (inspired by Google DeepMind's CaMeL research) that vetoes hijacked agent actions, extended Site Isolation that limits agent scope to task-relevant origins, and a transparent work log with mandatory human approval gates for high-stakes actions. Chrome Enterprise Premium also brings real-time DLP inspection to agentic data flows, enforcing the same data governance policies on agents as on human users.
