HERE Technologies and AWS: Accelerating NDS.Live with agentic AI

HERE Technologies built an orchestrated multi-agent system on AWS's Kiro to automate decomposition of NDS.Live map data requirements into structured Jira ticket hierarchies. Six persona agents (Architect, Product Owner, Tech Lead, Developer, QA, Data Modeler) analyze requirements in parallel, grounded via Kiro powers (Agent Skills plus MCP servers), Kiro CLI for headless CI/CD automation, a three-layer semantic/episodic/procedural memory system, and Code Intelligence for querying actual source code. Reported outcomes include over 50% reduction in investigation time for new tasks, consistently well-structured tickets supporting ASPICE traceability, and architecture-aware scoping before ticket generation. Lessons learned include favoring on-demand 'skills' over always-on context, adding confirmation gates at key decision points, structuring memory for fast recall, and grounding agents in source code rather than documentation alone.
