Selected models in GitHub Copilot deprecated

GitHub has deprecated four AI models across all Copilot experiences (Chat, inline edits, ask/agent modes, code completions) effective October 2, 2026: Gemini 3.5 Flash and Gemini 3.6 Flash (replaced by Gemini 3.8 Flash), Kimi K2.7 Code (replaced by Kimi K3), and Claude Opus 4.7 (replaced by Claude Opus 5.5). Teams using these models in workflows or integrations need to switch to the suggested alternatives. Enterprise administrators may need to enable access to the new models via Copilot policy settings and can verify availability in the model selector in VS Code or github.com. No action is needed to remove the deprecated models themselves.
