A Partner Maturity Model for Vulnerability Operations in the AI Era
Cisco has introduced a five-level Partner Maturity Model for Vulnerability Operations, designed to help managed service partners assess and advance their security capabilities in an era where AI has compressed exploit timelines from weeks to minutes. The five levels range from Level 1 (Foundational Defender, reactive and manual) to Level 5 (AI-Optimized Vanguard, frontier-ready with machine-speed exposure management). Partners are encouraged to self-assess their current position, match their capabilities to their customer base complexity, and use the model as a shared vocabulary with Cisco field teams. A self-assessment tool is planned for July 8, alongside a customer playbook and partner supplement. The model emphasizes that reaching Level 5 is not the universal goal — the right level depends on the complexity of customers served.
