Google Cloud and Valtech have released the open-source core of Nexus SDV, a scalable AI-enabled connected vehicle platform built on Google Cloud. The platform uses Gemini models and an agentic architecture to transform vehicle telemetry into real-time insights. Security is implemented via a defense-in-depth model covering mTLS with PKI using Google Cloud Certificate Authority Service, OIDC-based identity brokering via Keycloak with JWT tokens, Workload Identity Federation for service-to-service auth, centralized secret management via Secret Manager, private GKE clusters for network isolation, and a custom Data API as a secure abstraction layer over Bigtable. The platform targets up to 100 million devices and integrates deeply with Android Automotive OS.
