The Insider Has Left the Building: Agentic Governance Beyond Managed Devices
As AI agents like Claude Cowork and OpenAI Workspace Agents move to vendor-managed clouds, they operate outside the reach of traditional endpoint (EDR) and network (SASE) security controls. These agents inherit user identities and entitlements, acting as trusted insiders on infrastructure enterprises don't own. Identity scoping alone is insufficient — it grants access but doesn't govern runtime behavior. The proposed solution is an API gateway placed inline at the action layer, which can enforce defined agent personas (scope) and monitor real-time behavior against that scope, catching drift at machine speed before damage spreads. Cequence promotes its AI Gateway as this control point.
