Security Slam 2026 – Fall Edition – Open Source Security Foundation

The Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) and CNCF TAG Security are hosting the Security Slam 2026 Fall Edition, a 30-day virtual challenge running October 5 through November 6, 2026, ahead of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon America. Participants use OpenSSF tools to reach security hygiene milestones matched to their project's maturity. Unlike prior editions, eligibility now extends beyond CNCF projects to any open source project, and a new metric helps projects prepare for the EU's Cyber Resilience Act. Winners get physical and digital badges, with awards available at the OpenSSF booth during KubeCon NA (November 10-12).
