Uninvasive EEG Interface Could Be Used To Play Games

Octopus 16 is a DIY, uninvasive EEG headset combining 16 electrodes into a coin-sized pogo-pin cluster, using two Texas Instruments ADS131M08 24-bit ADCs and an ESP32 to stream brainwave data over Bluetooth Low Energy to a host machine. Built by Ildar Rakhmatulin and Youssef El Abbass for the PiEEG software platform, it has been demonstrated detecting focus states to control simple game environments, offering a budget-friendly option for EEG experimentation, though signal quality remains a concern.
