Zoom acquires Common Room to boost AI sales tools
Zoom is acquiring Seattle-based AI startup Common Room, which builds go-to-market intelligence software that aggregates CRM data, product usage signals, and real-world buyer behavior into a unified person-level view. AI agents then handle prospecting and outreach. The deal adds buyer intelligence to Zoom's existing Revenue Accelerator platform, which already coaches reps on sales calls. Common Room was founded in 2020 by veterans from Dropbox, Facebook, AWS, and Madrona, raised $52M, and counts Notion, Okta, Snowflake, and Anthropic among its customers. The acquisition price was not disclosed. The move reflects Zoom's broader strategy to reinvent itself as an AI-powered enterprise 'system of action' beyond its stagnating video conferencing roots.
