A UPS For Your Pi That’s A Little Different

Web3-Pi built an external uninterruptible power supply for the Raspberry Pi 5, designed to sit in the USB power chain rather than as a HAT sitting atop the board. The box accepts USB-C PD, barrel jack, or a hot-swappable Sony camera battery as input, outputting a steady 5V/5A, and can communicate with the Pi over USB to relay telemetry and trigger a graceful shutdown when power runs low. Internally it uses a CH32 RISC-V microcontroller for power handling and an RP2040 for control and driving an OLED display. An LTE add-on for remote monitoring is mentioned on the project site but doesn't appear fully implemented in the GitHub repo yet.
