Getting started with DSC 3.0 – Part 1: What is DSC and what changed?

Microsoft DSC 3.0 is explained as a complete rewrite rather than a new PowerShell module version, dropping the MOF/Configuration block model and Local Configuration Manager in favor of JSON/YAML configuration documents, cross-platform support, and resources that can be written in any language. Existing PowerShell DSC resources still work via adapters, but configuration documents must be rewritten. A walkthrough shows installing DSC via winget and running basic get/test/set commands against a minimal YAML configuration.
