Kernel 7.2: RK3588 media, smarter GPU memory, and Rust foundations

Linux kernel 7.2 ships with broad architecture, memory-management, filesystem, security, and hardware-support updates. Rust infrastructure advances include the zerocopy crate, a GPUVM abstraction for Rust GPU drivers, s390 wiring for the Rust build system, and compile-time lifetime checks in driver-core. Collabora engineers contributed 102 patches spanning RK3588 media support (VICAP, VeriSilicon IOMMU), Panthor GPU memory reclaim via a new GEM shrinker, Tyr Rust driver improvements (shared-memory GEM backing, register macro, render nodes), Virtio-GPU deferred mapping and blob-alignment support for Apple Silicon, MediaTek Genio PMIC and networking work, HDMI/DisplayPort fixes, and hibernation reliability improvements.
