The next chapter of public sector investments: New milestones, new deployment options

Atlassian is expanding its public sector cloud offerings, moving up its DoD Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorization submission by six months to July 2028, with FedRAMP High submission targeted for January 2029. Initial IL5/FedRAMP High deployments will cover Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Rovo, and Guard. The company is also developing a fully disconnected air-gapped deployment for IL6+ workloads, in technical design with US government partners, and exploring a sovereign cloud offering with European infrastructure providers for data residency requirements. These moves come as Atlassian Data Center reaches end-of-life on March 28, 2029, pushing customers toward cloud migration.
