Forge LLMs API is now GA: Here’s how you can build AI-native apps on Atlassian

Atlassian's Forge LLMs API has reached general availability, enabling developers to integrate large language models directly into Forge apps without managing AI infrastructure or handling data egress. Powered by Amazon Bedrock under the hood, the API provides access to Claude model tiers (Sonnet, Opus, Haiku) via a simple SDK. Apps using it can qualify for the 'Runs on Atlassian' badge, signaling enterprise-grade data containment. Since the June preview, over 100 apps have launched to production and 350+ are in development, covering use cases like workflow automation, procurement, and software testing. Getting started requires only adding the Forge LLMs SDK — no separate AI account or API keys needed.
