Getting started with DSC 3.0 – Part 4: Configuring IIS with multiple resources and dependsOn

A hands-on walkthrough shows how to configure IIS, an application pool, a website and a web application in a single DSC 3.0 YAML document using multiple resources tied together with dependsOn. It covers the new resourceId() syntax that replaced the old PowerShell DSC DependsOn format, explains the role of adapters (Microsoft.Adapter/WindowsPowerShell, Microsoft.Adapter/PowerShell, Microsoft.Windows/WMI) that let DSC invoke PowerShell-based resources, notes that the old adapter names are deprecated and will be removed in DSC 4.0, and clarifies that dependsOn only controls execution order, not state verification, pointing to Microsoft.DSC/Assertion for actual gating.
